Consciously Sustainable, Subconsciously Unique
Sustainability is an important issue and here’s how we’re doing our part.
1. No Waste!
No kidding, there is absolutely no waste from beginning to end - that is, from manufacturing to delivery. Our products are handmade to the quantity that you need each and every time. We only use the quantity of each ingredient that is required.
2. Biodegradable Ingredients
Our ingredients are extracted from plants, therefore when they return to the ground they don’t cause damage to the environment - natural they began, natural they will continue to be. This means zero damage if they return to the environment via our drainage and sewerage systems. Therefore there is no impact on the waterways, oceans and their ecosystems!
3. Sustainable Packaging
We use glass bottles and jars for the packaging of all of our products. The Glass Packaging Institute reports that “glass is 100% recyclable and can be recycled endlessly without loss in quality or purity”. See here for an in-depth look at the Glass Container Recycling Loop and more important glass facts https://www.gpi.org/glass-recycling-facts
Glass is also non-porous so it won’t transfer smells, it keeps fresh items safe for use, it doesn’t leach harmful chemicals into your products, reduces landfill, is easy to clean and in our opinion just looks plain ol’ better than plastic.
4. Shipping Materials
Ok, but what about postage packaging? So glad you asked! We use wood wool to package our products so they arrive to your door safe and sound. Wood wool is natural and environmentally friendly. It is manufactured from untreated pine and sustainably sourced in Australia. It is chemical-free and 100% biodegradable.
Our kraft cardboard boxes are recyclable and we think they are cute enough to reuse for storing other items. All you need to do is turn them inside out and they can become a nice little storage box for you. And there you have it - cute, clean, simple and unique!
